2004 New York Auto Show: Nissan Xterra

2005 Nissan Xterra Front Side View

There's no mistaking this as anything other than the Xterra, even if the front bumper has ballooned way out of proportion with the rest of the vehicle in this second-generation design. It will be built on a modified version of the Titan's platform, with an independent control-arm front suspension, a live rear axle, and a standard 4.0-liter V-6 engine that will produce 250-plus horsepower and 270-plus pound-feet of torque through either a five-speed automatic or six-speed manual transmission. To be built in Tennessee, the new Xterra will go on sale in early 2005.
