The latest 5-series Touring (wagon) is now going on sale, and BMW showed that version of the 530Xi at Geneva fitted with both the new magnesium/aluminum in-line six-cylinder engine and its latest xDrive all-wheel-drive system. As with the 130i and 330i, the engine makes a solid 255 hp, while the multiplate, clutch-pack AWD system--shared with the X3 and X5--allows up to 100 percent of the torque to go to either the front or rear wheels, should they need it.
