2007 Mitsubishi Galant Ralliart

Mitsubishi has released only this sketch of the Galant Ralliart, but having seen a concept at the 2004 SEMA show, we have some idea of what to expect. The 3.8-liter V6 from the new 2006 Eclipse will push out between 260 and 300 horsepower in this application to compete with family-hauling rockets like the Mazdaspeed 6 and the {{{Nissan Altima}}} SE-R. Along with the hotter engine, expect the typical upgrades in aerodynamics, brakes, wheels, and seats. There is an abundance of better-looking and better-driving sedans in this segment, so sales of the Galant have been sluggish. Most Mitsubishi fans already have love affairs with the Eclipse or the Lancer Evolution. The Galant Ralliart is not a sporty coupe nor a rally champion, and it is no longer the tame family cruiser from which it is derived. With Mitsubishi's financial woes, the company would be better off improving the regular Galant rather than taking risks like this.
