Why its one of our most significant: The Accord is one of the best-selling sedans in America, and this concept previews the next (and apparently much meaner-looking) generation of the car. Despite the fact that it is Honda's best-selling model in North America, there has never been a concept version of the Accord shown at a major U.S. auto show. That all changes at this year's North American International Auto Show in Detroit.

Yes, that's right: it looks like an Audi TT coupe and a Scion TC had a baby. Honda's new Accord Coupe represents a different design language for the storied Japanese brand, and thankfully, it's one we like. The show car itself has no engine or transmission, but the quad tailpipes hint at the increased performance promised by Honda in the Accord's next iteration. The next-generation Accord V-6 will provide higher fuel efficiency by utilizing Honda's Variable Cylinder Management (VCM) technology; essentially, it's a form of cylinder deactivation that promises no power loss but increased fuel economy.
