It didn't take long for the Brabus boys to get their hands on the new Smart Fortwo. Just as with the last generation vehicle, the German tuner has decided that the tinest of tiny cars needs a little more pep. But compared to the previous edition, the new Brabus Fortwo has thirty percent more power and a twenty-four percent lower weight-to-power ratio. All that power-a big 98 horses-comes from a 1.0-liter three cylinder that makes 103 lb-ft of torque. According to Brabus, the run up to 62 mph is done in under ten seconds on its way to a top speed of 96 mph.

The exterior of the Brabus models is distinguished from regular ForTwos by wider arches and custom wheels, while the fancier Brabus Xclusive also sports a front spoiler and side skirts. Inside, the base model gets a number of Brabus-only trim pieces; the Xclusive also gets heated leather seats, a sports steering wheel, and leather trim throughout the cabin, along with standard side air bags. Both go on sale this fall in Europe, but there's no word on whether this hotted-up Smarts will come here next year.
