2005 Porsche Cayenne Panorama

This is not, we repeat, not the Cayenne Targa. There will never be a Cayenne Targa or, for that matter, any other Targa that isn't a 911. This is a Cayenne with the optional $3,900 fifteen-square-foot panorama sunroof, and it joins the Cadillac SRX in offering a giant porthole to the stars. We're not sure that the obese Cayenne needs even more weight, and a huge panorama roof like this one can add over a hundred pounds up high where it hurts chassis dynamics most. Still, there's something glamorous about the sky shining over all the passengers, and we'd probably enjoy this option on a Cayenne as we do on our Cadillac SRX. Also new this year is a 500-horsepower upgrade for the Cayenne Turbo that comes with beefed up brakes. We'd rather see a Cayenne with less weight, but more power is almost as good. And at $109,200, the 500-horsepower Cayenne better be good.
