Lincoln's first Aviator, a fancified Ford Explorer, never got off the ground, so the 2007 model takes a different tack: unibody architecture (from the Mazda 6), front- or all-wheel drive, and a 3.5-liter V-6. New styling junks the baby Navigator look. Takeoff is next fall.
