2006 Mitsubishi Raider

PreviousVehicleNextVehicle

Debuting at the North American International Auto Show, Mitsubishi's re-entry into the mid-size truck market is the 2006 Raider, based on the all-new 2005 Dodge Dakota. Aiming at a young audience, the Raider's styling is clean and muscular, with a wide-open grille similar to those featured on other new Mitsubishi models. Power is provided by either a 3.7-liter V-6 or a class-leading, 4.7-liter V-8 with 230 horsepower and 290 lb-ft of torque. Buyers can also choose from an extended- or double-cab, each offered with two- or four-wheel drive. The available DuroCross package supplies the Raider with a higher ride height, beefier 265/70/16 BFGoodrich all-terrain tires, and exterior appearance enhancements. Available colors for the fairly roomy cabin are limited to two: charcoal or khaki. Beleaguered Mitsubishi's future hangs on the success of the new models shown in Detroit.
